To create a coordinated website and publication that consistently presents a positive image of the LGBT communities in Central Illinois that defies stereotypes. To provide a current and comprehensive source of news, events, resources and business directories for our community. To support and organize social, networking and fundraising events that promote the LGBT community.

Our Circulation
Out&About magazine is distributed FREE through local businesses, restaurants and bars who wish to make our magazine available to their customers. A PDF version of every issue is also available for free on our website.

O&A also maintains a confidential database of people who have signed up to receive e-mail newsletters detailing recent news and upcoming events. Limited advertising space will be available in these e-mail newsletters.

You can also support O&A by contributing your ideas, photos, stories and suggestions. We’re always looking for dynamic new content to include in our magazine and website.

The Out&AboutIllinois project is supported by our generous advertisers who reach out to our community. Please support our advertisers, and be sure to tell them you saw their ad in Out&About so they know their message is being heard.

OutAndAboutIllinois is an advertiser supported monthly, full-color magazine distributed free through a network of restaurants, bars and other allied businesses throughout Central Illinois. The contents of O&A magazine include feature articles, general news, local & educational articles, an events calendar, advertising and other information for the LGBT community in Central Illinois. The O&A magazine can also be viewed and downloaded from the O&A website. A complete list of distribution points is available on the O&A website. O&A is a collaborative project seeking the input, advice and contributions of all members of our diverse and involved community.

OutAndAboutIllinois.com provides a single website with many different sections. The main O&A home page has general news, links and information for all of Central Illinois. The O&A magazine can also be downloaded from this page. Colors are assigned to each city section where more specific listings, news and events for that geographic area can be found. Regardless of where someone navigates on the O&A website, they will have immediate access to all sections on the website – thus increasing exposure to those areas.

FREE listings on the O&A website are available to ANY individual, business or organization who is accepting of the LGBT community.
